I'm gonna need more hangers.

shoes [jeffrey campbell] :: sweater [oh! jamae] :: skirt [borrowed, ASOS]

but i’m waiting waited anyway. these. are. so. alice-in-wonderful. i can’t get yellow/teal out of my mind. after what seemed like forever, i got these 8’s (i wear 7’s) and with two pairs of socks, they’re the perfect winter boots to cheer me up among the army of ant boots i keep seeing. not that i don’t want a pair of those either, but yellow shoes have become my thing. this is my 3rd pair.

a special thanks to Emilie @ plumforpolly.com. she is unbelievably sweet and helped me and my annoying inquiries every step of the way. i can’t thank her enough, honestly. also, her kids are a beautiful example of why i want half kids.

jumper [american west] :: rings [my got]

my sunday after-the-shit-show outfit. The Princess came to visit and i insisted we dress up to go out with the kids in the City. too bad there were no pics, cuz she was this ruby red sweet thing and i was this vamp-vixen type and the Gangster Girl was this great-rap-hop diva in my new Ciara/Mariah coat and it became a gorgeous mess of a night. those were the shoes from last night. i’m working back into the high heeled life.

i’m wearing this jacket to pills, should i just buy another to make it last? or just replace it when the time comes? this is my latest thematic issue: replacement. must something else always be filling some void, instead of creating a new cavity of affection?

necklace [schwing schwing]

disregarding that stray strand of course, i freakin love my hair like this. if i have time, i’ll do a tutorial. it basically utilizes the same principles as my mohawking technique.

i’ve been wearing this collar for weeks without a word of it’s awesomeness. a gift from the mnmlst (because she just KNOWS me), although i’m again concerned about the quality: there’s a small knob in the back that does all the securing and if it breaks off, i’m totally fucked. and not in the way i want to be. i wonder if those ones from Nelly.com will ship to Korea…

sweater [wara] :: collar [murua]

i hate it when this happens. i really do. i should know better than to trust cheap tights. this is their only second wear and now they’re unwearable. why is it so hard to find good quality in korea? i just want to stop replacing things already.

the collar is from a japanese magazine, sweater from seoul trip. i have a thing for knits that double as bath mats.

sweater, skirt [elves] || dress (worn as shirt) [river island]

i’m obsessed with animal prints now like they’re the new jil sander floral. i want something in every one imaginable…giraffe, dalmation…cruella knows what i’m talkin about. in other print news, really liked a skull print longsleeve and a wonderland print sweater, but i really needed to save for my upcoming travels so they’re in limbo for now. the thing about shopping in korea is that it’s pretty much all fast fashion: high turnover, crap quality. i can’t avoid it so i’m making the most of it by indulging in some things i can’t in the states. at least the designs are acceptable.

this skirt. shit son, the zip-ability is killin me. i can also wear it as a dress and it would be such excellent date attire. pity that won’t be happening anytime soon.

jeans [colorfe]

1) i wear make up everyday to work. and take a break on weekends, save for evenings out of course. it started because my mentor teacher got me some and i was obligated, but i gotta admit, it’s really freakin fun to doll up. its a bit different than an american routine, mostly in terms of brands and something called “bb cream.” more later.

2) i’m obsessed with skincare. even moreso. i have this strict routine in addition to normal face washing which involves toner+lotion+eye cream. like make up, it’s a joy to hunt for the perfect brand/products. i’ve always wanted to have one of those “like-omg-i’ve-been-using-this-for-ages” types of deals and be a huge asshole about it.

3) i don’t wash my hair everyday which is actually a big deal for me, cuz i’m so used to clean hair. i wash it every other day or every 2 days and it’s been a lot more healthy. it’s also getting close to nipple length WHICH MAKES ME SO HAPPY. you don’t even know, it’s just been a long time. maybe perfect length by january?

4) i braid my hair. a lot, i’ve been trying different styles when my hair is dirty. this one is my current favorite.

5) i’m back on the pattern mixing train. the minimalist thing was super fun and its definitely still a part of me but korea is waaaaaay too homogenous for me and patterns is how i’m punch-protesting their drugged-dragged style in the face. yes these are new jeans. i dont really like denim but omg…what would you do if you saw drop crotch polka dotted goodness?

scarf [bought in seoul]

oh shoot a month went by :X my bad. I’M STILL HERE. the scarf is one of three things i got on my perfect weekend in seoul. my first two visits kind of sucked, third times the ____ right? it’s actually a lot bigger than it looks. more to come sooooon. also, don’t you love how my cardigan+bow tie match my shoes? yeah i kinda threw up a little too.

so i was in a gray phase, but i think that’s just korea. i made a weekend trip to fukuoka (happy hangul day! and how nose tilting is that comment? bhaha i just like sounding fancy) and come back looking like a japanese middle school girl. i also don’t know what possessed me to make such poor shopping choices again: this cheap shirt, quality is questionable but the hearts oh the hearts; these navajo print thigh high socks which i’m strangely in love with; another pair of scalloped shorts. is it buyers remorse? perhaps. this happened last year too. there has to be a remedy for this itis; i’m just too big a sucker for japanese style period. there were so many precious style moments and creepers are everywhere and everywhere a taunting echo of my loved ones at home. to be fair though, i did spend a lot more on a few necessities and lots of great food, so i shouldn’t feel too bad. the polka dot backpack was entirely intentional. welcome to my life little buddy.

something i must tell you though: i saw the perfect leather jacket. but it was about 1/3 of my monthly salary and i just couldn’t do it. i am boning inside right now for the right time to pounce. january? i think so. oh i’m so sick in the head.

jacket [theory] :: shirt [cheap monday] :: pants [stitch] :: shoes [ferragamo]

drop crotch sweat shorts. i love these things. i think i’ve just been waiting for these to come into my life. its not like i’m against comfort, i’m just so damn picky about notoriously casual things.

wearing this blazer and ferragamos to shreds when i wanna feel polished. good brings, but i need more of these, i miss the easiness of outfit assembling that my wardrobe at home had. i’ll want a certain look, but i’ll be missing some key pieces. i miss so many of my clothes, i almost wanna pay for shipping more over. but then being here is a privilege and i feel i should try to build and immerse myself in korean style while i’m here. i don’t mean fall for foreign fashion syndrome like i did last year in japan though. you should see some of the crap here they pull here. i’m trying to be open minded, believe me, but honestly, somethings i’ll never understand.

tucked the collar into a mock neck shirt. no one cares. story of my life.

shirt [miliore] :: shorts [w dress room] :: shoes [ferragamo] :: sunglasses [ebay] :: belt [express]

sigh. its been a long time. i’m an asshole. but i really can’t be bothered at the mo, i’m in a new country, i have my own place, i have a new life and all these new things have filled a void that fashion occupied for so long. i’ve been scanning my google reader occasionally and finding new inspiration when i’m out and about, so it’s not like i’ve forgotten how to blog; i’ve just neglected it a bit. anyway, things have been really wonderful, i can’t explain how happy i am currently. surely you understand?

i’ve been shopping in korea like i shopped in europe, selectively and skeptically. these shorts in seoul though, were one of those, “omg i’d change for you” types of dreadful infatuations from the boys section. my guyfriend Sparrow can wear them too, sisterhood-of-the-travelling-pants style. it’s kind of disgustingly awesome. we’re trading off this weekend.
