I'm gonna need more hangers.

I went shopping with my mom again today (it’s her birthday), and I got a pair of shoes. Well you know what? I think I’m going to return them. I remembered that I had made the mistake of trying on these shoes at Phi while in NYC.

Phi Resort 2009

Jak & Jil

Yeah see those? They were a wicked 4+ inch, thin as a bitch stiletto and they felt AMAZING. They were originally $625 or something like that, 40% off. Still in the $300 range.

Since then, I’ve had two problems 1) I want multi strap stilettos reminescent of Dior X Mad Max fantasies and 2) I love the way $600 feels on my feet. Wah triple digits. It was ungodly sad for me to rip myself away from that store. As a result, I have become a convert and I don’t even own anything from the store yet. All I know is that I now want to be a Phi girl. And I want everything from the resort collection.

Phi Resort 2010

So hard to narrow down my favorites. But those fantastic jackets, the sick shoes, the fun surfer-esque prints and leggings, even the silly biker shorts trend that I blame Alex Wang for! I’d venture to describe Phi’s aesthetic as that of a tribal gang of wicked neo-urban fish. I don’t know why, it just fits.

I’m a bad bad girl. I skipped Organic Chem to go to Forever 21 to buy a pair of pants I should’ve bought last Friday, and ONLY those pants, but ended up coming back with a few other things. Notice anything interesting?

Forever 21 return loot

Forever 21 return loot, a lot of black huh?

Yup! It’s those zippered shoes from way back when! They went down from $27.80 to $13.99! I couldn’t pass that up. I did try on the red ones again, but found them to be too trashy and difficult to match. Not saying zippered shoes are classy to begin with, but I’ll take a bite out of practicality this time. I did like them (the red ones) though, but it goes against my sanctioned rule of not buying doubles of something.

The said pants are high waisted and very lovely, though I can’t help wondering if I should’ve opted for a Small instead of XS. Scratch that, I’m wearing them and they’re fine XD. Only $10.99! They’re a bit strechy so I can either wear them super high or hip-ish. Also, Love the tiny pin tucks at the top. Plus, it came with a chain belt, which I will of course be wearing as a necklace since you know how I feel about chains.

Speaking of chains, is it surprising that I caved in and bought the bracelet? It look a bit of will power to not buy more chains. I saw some Givenchy inspired crosses and I nearly died.

Dolce and Gabbana, Lanvin, 3.1 Phillip Lim

I’m going pink crazy right now; everything this semester has been rather dreary and the color alone is lifting my spirits. I’m totally in love with the idea of going head to toe in it; a monochrome look that was popular in spreads for skirt suiting last fall.

I didn’t really notice how strong of a look this was until I realized that I couldn’t take my eyes off of any outfit that utilized only one color (exhibit Lanvin, center). It also happened when I was at Express and fell for these, though I didn’t try them on due to no time. The (almost) head to toe pinkness draws you in, it says confidence like pattern mixing just can’t match. I should have realized this sooner; the pink parade will march on, so watch out!

The simplicity of a steamlined, no frills collection appeals to me as much as a decora one. The trick to wearing distinct blocks of color is make them look continuous; in other words, styled effortlessly. I can’t wait to try the last look.

I’m gonna try this look tomorrow, inspired by my browsing of Korean fashion:

A look from Seoul Fashion Week. Ruffled sleevless top + voluminous skirt. I almost want a plaid skirt now; the Burberry appeal is getting to me. But no! I shall resist.

A gentle metallic wave

Would you prefer a wink or a punch of color?

Must try: jackets cropped right at the pant waist-will they give me length? Also, gun metal gray does not seem so taboo in this subdued hue.

Draping: flirty free/flirty fitted

Same belt worn cinched and loose, where can I find such versatility?

If you could wear the wind, would you run?

No sir, I would cat walk.

PS. Why don’t I own more strappy platforms? Why?
