I'm gonna need more hangers.

miliyah kato [mini magazine]

just got back from london, was only there 2 days. i know i’m spoiled and no one really cares about lonely soul (we strive towards a higher goal! anyone get that? anyone?), but traveling is really exhausting. this photo embodies so many things about me right now, even the charmless poprecito glum. i bought a shirt similar to that one online; it’ll be there when i get home. i’m starting to miss things and am feeling so stifled in my clothing and vacant without an outlet to let loose. getting really friendsick. also, london made me miss my creepers so much.

but i finally bought some things!

another look i’m favoring for summer, but then again, i’ve always been a fan of wannabe dance wear. i’ve got a thing for making childlike things more adult appropriate, wtf that means. here, its the length; t-length is my answer to everything at the mo. also +collared shirt.

question: is it ok if i wear this with hot pants instead?

i’ve seen this comme des garcons dress not once, twice, but THREE times; i can take a hint. i don’t even mind that obnoxiously big belt, the hard leather transposed onto the soft shape of a 50s “kitchen life” dress is such a pretty winner. i’m finally warming up to leather. i’m not sure why i’d adverse to this material on clothing for myself. i think it’s because i’m usually drawn to jersey and knits, silk and soft things. also because leather is often used for practical, durable things like handbags and belts, neither of which i invest in, though i might have to. meh, i don’t really know what i’m talking about XD.

varsity jacket [swagger 360, shouldbechic, alexis krauss]

i decided to pass this trend by. i bought that cute little pink one off of asos and returned it along with another sporty item. yes i have a fascination with old schoolery, but even with these punk, oversized, retro-fitted images in mind, i just don’t think its me. in the end, the item ignored and sad. so i’m gonna save up for that junya watanabe coat or tsumori chisato star dress i’ve been searching for. the problem with trends is that they make you stray from the things you’ve had in your heart. or at least your ideal wardrobe. i resent them now, those schematic harlots;  my tolerance is low for the short-term pieces in my closet’s past and i’m trying to purge them for my future self.

i think it’s a good idea to discard things once i graduate. my goal is to cut my wardrobe down in half and i couldn’t be more serious. in other words, i’m probably going to be giving away/selling my shit for cheap to ppl i love before i haul everything off to buffalo exchange or ebay.

vogue china [may 2011]

i think i like cut outs best on black dresses. i’ve been buying a lot of black dresses recently, for myself and my friends. what is it about the color, that negative space, that allows you to become the focal point? its a beautiful and fantastic optical invention, but i’m afraid i’m becoming seduced into an absence of color, white included, that could be too safe and thus, could ruin me.

elle uk [jan2011]

i haven’t really felt like blogging lately, to be honest. there were over 1000+ posts on my reader that i hadn’t caught up on and i pressed mark all as read. and it felt good. sometimes it’s good to not give a shit; you need your space or else you end up sweeping trash.

i miss dressing playfully classic. to me, classic demands structured jacket of some kind, and it’s just too hot for that. i could use a good short suit now.

today is also the last day of my style class. i’m not sure what i’m feeling right now, but i’ll know what it is later.

silver+white = perfect summer uniform. this is a bit for Phebe as well, although I want something that’s more like I’m about to get injected with an IV.

vogue china april 2011 [beautyisdiverse]
