I'm gonna need more hangers.

I’m smiling because even though I went to be at 5:30 this morning (no joke) and royally screwed up my Chinese Presentation, I got the person I’d been hoping for to agree to walk in the MoB (Mod + Fob) Fashion Show.

HOWEVER! Later he facebooked messaged me saying how there might be a chance of him not being there that weekend. Not gonna lie, it would be difficult to replace him and he is just perfect for the part. I’m just crossing my fingers like they’re going to break at this point.

As for my outfit, like I said, didn’t sleep much, so I defaulted to something of easy fashionable and rocker. These boots give me insta-style, really. I’m beginning to see why fashion people value coffee, under eye concealer, black & white, and simplicity in dressing. They want the quickest fix, the fastest ways to look good because there is literally NO time. I’ve been doing fashion stuff all week, 2 am bedtimes, barely scraping by on less than 6 hours of sleep, and tons tons tons of things to still do. I really do entertain the idea of a uniform, a fail safe, that pull-for-emergency outfit that I can wear proudly but conjure up fast.

It’ll definitely include white. White is a must for faking crispness.

OH! And my first fash article is out in the Thresher. Just a little intro, a taste of what’s to come.

Today was perfect for layering and boy did I take advantage of it, both with clothes and jewelry. Curiously, my campus also happened to feel like busting out the purple as well. I wonder how that happens.

In case you’re curious, my sweater is not that long. There’s actually an elongated scarf-like extension that is supposed to wrap around my neck, but I’ve let it drape behind me for a bit of a twist.

As for the actual scarf I’m wearing…

Chain Necklaces, Jimmy'z and Forever 21 belt (came with pants)

I borrowed it from Jen-Jen. She told me it’s from Zara, which makes sense. It’s really soft and wiiiiide; I want to find/make something similar. I love the contrasting stripey look. I learned from Jen-Jen that if you like certain things, don’t be afraid to buy more of them. It’s ok to have too many stripes. Just like it’s ok to have too many chains.

The silver tee is new, btw, and I’m also fond of it as well. Xiao Ke Ai said I looked like a breakfast burrito with it on alone. XD!

Not gonna lie, this is my favorite outfit yet.

I’m starting to get addicted to wearing all one color. It is so easy to choose items and stand out. Granted, I do look like giant cloud/marshmellow/yeti/what have you like this XD.

I’m a bad bad girl. I skipped Organic Chem to go to Forever 21 to buy a pair of pants I should’ve bought last Friday, and ONLY those pants, but ended up coming back with a few other things. Notice anything interesting?

Forever 21 return loot

Forever 21 return loot, a lot of black huh?

Yup! It’s those zippered shoes from way back when! They went down from $27.80 to $13.99! I couldn’t pass that up. I did try on the red ones again, but found them to be too trashy and difficult to match. Not saying zippered shoes are classy to begin with, but I’ll take a bite out of practicality this time. I did like them (the red ones) though, but it goes against my sanctioned rule of not buying doubles of something.

The said pants are high waisted and very lovely, though I can’t help wondering if I should’ve opted for a Small instead of XS. Scratch that, I’m wearing them and they’re fine XD. Only $10.99! They’re a bit strechy so I can either wear them super high or hip-ish. Also, Love the tiny pin tucks at the top. Plus, it came with a chain belt, which I will of course be wearing as a necklace since you know how I feel about chains.

Speaking of chains, is it surprising that I caved in and bought the bracelet? It look a bit of will power to not buy more chains. I saw some Givenchy inspired crosses and I nearly died.

I don’t feel like this outfit is super creative, but I really just wanted to wear my new tights.

I won these a few weeks ago and they came in last week! I love them very much and they’re machine washable (ya I know right?). I first spotted this trend in a Japanese mag (ViVi and JJ) earlier this year, but I’m sure it’s been going on for quite sometime. The Japanese Mags just throw all this crap out there bazooka style and you just have to grab onto something.

Today, I went to the Thresher’s Office to present my column, nervous as hell and sans jacket. If I can wear these boots to every meeting I ever have again in my life, I will. Can you tell I love them muchos? I can’t stop wearing them either.

I’ve got to admit, the outfit looks way better without the jacket. D’oh! Next time…next time…but who am I kidding? I’m probably not going to repeat this look ever again.

It was my birthday Friday and I wore all pink. It is of course, a tribute to my current love/obsession with Lanvin’s S09, head to toe pink look:

I also had the PERFECT pair of nude heels to make it more like the runway like, but they’re at home…wah. Oh well. Wearing monochrome made me feel like I stood out way more than if I had mixed patterns. My sweetmate Xiao Ke Ai also sported an all pink look, granted it was after hours and totally by mistake. Muchos props to effortlessness XD!

I also have this fantastic picture of my mother in a pink sweatsuit; and she’s the only person I feel comfortable describing as sophisticated/chic (and I rather dislike those overused adjectives) but she wears a sweatsuit so well. God damn, gotta find that picture.

Don’t you love that Jen-Jen’s in this picture too? I love how theatrical my roommate is, following along with my shenanigans and likewise.

These pants (and the turtle neck) are two of my new purchases. I really adore the pants and the way they fall. I was laughing at them when I found them, cause they seem so weirdly trendy in the high fashion world. But now I’m still chilling in them and thinking of different ways to wear them. I can see them being my “on the go” pants with some flats or my many kitten heels.

However, I am sort of getting fed up with the Gap jersey blazer. It just keeps insisting on looking frumpy even when I belt it! I don’t understand. To be fair though, the hoodie underneath does demand a lot of space, hence the balloon effect on my torso in the picture. It looks much better when I’m standing up. I was going for a parisian look, when it occured to me that I don’t really know what that entails. I think it’s about creative layering, but knowing when to stop. Pushing but pulling back. It’s the tantilizing nature of the culture, that allure, that I am lacking.

But I think I got it right with the shoes. I’m just upset about the top area. But I think with just the turtleneck and the necklace, it looks fab for something so simple. Sadly, no pics :\.

K-Drama and I went shopping on Saturday together! We checked out the sneaker store, Tipping Point, downtown, across from the Forever 21 flagship store. He’s still looking for his perfect first pair. At the Heritage 1981/Forever 21 boys section, I had a lot of fun helping him find stuff, and I’m really proud of the stuff he got. However I failed to take pictures of any of our loot. That’s ok, check out how cute we are!

I got some stripey basics cause they were necessary and a surprising pair of “harem-ish” pants that looked quite charming on me, those questionable on the hanger. My pose doesn’t really show off the swingyness of this skirt as a dress, which is why I love borrowing it from Jen-Jen and am hunting for one myself. My weekend outfits are a bit more lax and I go for the pretty look more. I’d rather just delight my boyfriend.

I was very tired today, so I thought, “Maybe if I wear bright colors, I’ll wake up.” It didn’t really work, but I loved the combo. Especially how the vest poofs out at the bottom when belted, though my pose is stretching it out a bit.

I was very sleepy, but very happy.

My boyfriend surprised me this morning with my late Christmas present: the Danika boots I’ve been lusting after like nobody’s business. I was planning on doing more with this outfit, but all I wanted to do was wear these boots.

K-Drama even suggested I wear bracelets. Isn’t he cute and supportive? But seriously, I did not want to take these puppies off. I’m also tempted to break my rule of repeats and wear them all week. This is gonna be tough. Thank you sweety, you spoil me.
